"Capture the smiles and hugs." My business began by hosting mentorship events for a loyal, driven, ambitious community of believers & supporters. Prior to each event, I would hire and instruct a photographer to "capture every smile, high five, and hug" at the event. Then, we gave the event photos to the attendees and invited them to share their experience with their own networks. The goal was to empower learners to share their own growth & development narrative. Develop strong programming, capture the moment of learning, build a peer community, empower learners to share the experience and showcase belonging. FoMO retains interest and grows the work & all involved.

A company sometimes struggle to keep top performers from moving on because of the lack of meaningful engagement programs. In my experience these are some strategies: - Assess your overall T&D program against the values of the organization. - If there is a significant gap in the aforementioned, that means there is a disconnect. So engage TOP management FIRST to get back to the core values of the business. - Move to then engage your team members to understand the overall vision. The vision must be modeled by top management first! - Reward learning! - Offer opportunities for development.

In my programs, I've seen firsthand how acknowledging and rewarding employees for completing training milestones fosters a positive learning environment and encourages continued participation. Whether it's through certification, public acknowledgment, or tangible rewards, recognizing effort and achievement plays a key role in retention.

Recognition is important. It is important to know how people like to be recognized. Some love public plaudits, some like their praise in person and private. Most people would like their criticism in private too. But anyone who says they do not want to be recognized for their achievements is not being honest with you. Gamification is another great way of recognizing achievements and milestones on the way to them. Money is always another factor, and my personal favorite.

One thing that I've found effective is the use of Microsoft Teams. When I create a training module, we create a Teams room that can house the recording, the chat room, the documents and can connect to Outlook for emailing. Having this system allows the team to constantly check back with one another and to have ongoing chats. You can create a monthly newsletter or a monthly topic, and keep the energy moving forward. Other ways to keep this energy is simply to have reunions and networking opportunities following the main session. You can also have ad hoc book clubs to continue the learning and reinforce the lessons..

Learning opportunity, will always help in creating new ideas within the team for better productivity. Yes to learning always gives you a chance to grow. The biggest asset if yourself, the more you educate your self, you look to grab more opportunities, you unlock new doors. "A skill of Learning can take you to Places.."

Implementing feedback mechanisms and conducting assessments has allowed me to tailor the training content and methodology to better meet the needs of employees, thereby enhancing retention.

When you have well-defined learning outcomes at the start of your learning intervention, it makes it easy for the program to excel and to be appreciated. Monitoring progress of employees and being able to show trends pre and post delivery firms up the effectiveness and the need for the program.

Post mortem your wins as well as your loses. Learn from you wins, create repeat-ables. Reward the thought leaders that create the path for others to follow.

I think providing continuous learning and growing opportunities to employees is the best strategy to retain faithful employees, also they feel privileged. Organizations must allocate yearly budget for employee training and learning. And for that around 5000-10000 US $ per year would be really useful.

From my experience those are the best ways which I'm always considering: 1?? Design T&D programs that are directly applicable to their daily tasks and challenges. When they feel that learning supports their daily practice that will raise their commitment. 2?? Include regular coaching and reflection sessions in every single learning journey. Coaching is one of the best tools for enhancing commitment and offer more personalization for the development journey. 3?? Encourage peer-to-peer learning opportunities. 4?? Recognize and reward participants for completing training milestones. 5?? Utilize technology and e-learning tools to make training more accessible and flexible. ?? Do you have a supportive learning culture? think about it.

The end of one training program should be the beginning of another. Continuous learning opportunities keep employees engaged and ensure that their skills do not become obsolete. Offering advanced courses, cross-training, and opportunities for professional development encourages employees to keep learning and growing.

Focus on skills. Focus on doing. All to support performance in role. If what you’re delivering doesn’t enable this, why are you delivering it? Training is not about entertainment. It’s not about dumping knowledge and hoping it will stick. It’s about practice and making it as easy as possible for your team to do and be better.

Develop your content strategy based on your customers’ feedback. Include your customers in the design and development of the content. This will accelerate adoption once the content is available as it creates but-in early on!!

One thing I didn’t exactly see was career advancement. This isn’t entirely possible to modify, but is a big portion of the vetting process in hiring. Bringing on the right talent that fits your business and career opportunities is necessary to minimize turnover. This aligns with a Forbes article I read about bottleneck managers regarding holding employees back or not providing opportunities for advancement. Within my own department, I reformatted the hierarchy to allow for responsibilities, growth and opportunity.

Most importantly is that the L&D initiative is an actual career path - I.e. that the promotion and career growth of the employees as a whole tracks with learning. In other words - there’s no point in having a career development pathway framework if it clearly doesn’t matter for promotion and growth in the reality of the org. E.g. “Most of my peers that got promoted either didn’t go to the XYZ training or if they did, they did the bare minimum to check the box - so clearly to make the next level my learning activities and achievements don’t matter”
