In my experience a material handler of any caliber is diligent and precise with the inspection and care of the material being brought into the warehouse or laydown area. Material in most industrial must be maintained weekly to monthly and the handler has to communicate with all parties involved to resolve location placement, special material needs(Containments, Climate control, sensitive instruments etc.) and proper maintenance procedures. Being a engineering material handler you deal with a large array of materials that need proper identification, rework, problem solving and protective preservative measures. Everything piece has its importance and can take time to be replaced. Do what is necessary to maintain and identify accordingly.

To effectively perform their job, a senior material handler typically needs a high school diploma or equivalent, although some employers may prefer a post-secondary certificate or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Keep in mind before unloading any material off a flatbed or semi truck, that once that material is pulled off and brought into the warehouse, that the material belongs to your location and not another, because if the driver pulls off the lot after you've unloaded, the company has to pay for the unloading charge. Check the bill of lading before anything, don't be the bearer of bad news.
