Content curators need a variety of skills to be effective in their role, such as research skills to find and evaluate reliable sources of content, analytical skills to interpret and summarize the main points from the content, editorial skills to organize and present the content, creative skills to add their own voice and perspective, and technical skills to use the tools and platforms that enable content curation. They must be able to search for content using search engines, social media, online communities, newsletters, podcasts, and other channels. Additionally, they must be able to organize the content they select with headlines, captions, summaries, introductions, conclusions, and transitions. Content curators should also have the ability to add storytelling, humor, examples, quotes and commentary to the content they share. Finally, they must know how to use tools such as content management systems, social media platforms, content curation software and analytics tools.
