If you are moving out consulting and into another role, then I recommend creating a dedicated skills section. This is the easiest way to start optimizing for the applicant tracking system (ATS). You can start pulling keywords directly from your target job description and sprinkling them into this section. However, don't think that this is the ONLY thing you need to do to write a great resume. It truly is only the beginning. The reader also wants to know how you have put those skills into action.

I love incorporating industry-specific keywords and language to describe experiences for my career changing clients. There are multiple benefits when you take the time to do this right. Namely, it will strategically help you optimize for those darn applicant tracking systems (ATS). But it also provides verifiable proof that you are a great fit, and you bring a wealth of great relevant experience.
