Encontrar un mentor perfecto para tu carrera depende de tus objetivos, área de conocimiento, recursos, disponibilidad, etc. Pero sin lugar a dudas para mí la clave a la hora de seleccionar a una persona con la que vas a compartir tiempo y experiencias pasa porque haya un contexto de confianza y compartaís valores. Al igual que en una empresa cualquier candidato debería seleccionarse sobre la base de que sus valores encajen con los de la empresa. Una relación individual mentor-mentee funciona exactamente igual. Te aseguras una parte importante de que el viaje lo hagaís juntos. Luego ya hay que analizar otras variables (conocimientos, experiencia, habilidades, competencias, etc.).
