They differ in terms of their tasks, architectures, type of data... but the process stays the same: - Define the problem - Research state of the art - Prepare data - Train model - Analyze results These are the basics, now to choose your AI niche, the best way that I recommend is to test each domain in mini-projects early in your career. You'll find yourself comfortable in one more than the other. Also consider your transferable skills: - If you're from a statistics background, your analytical skills are useful in data science. - If you know image editing, your visual skills will serve you in computer vision.

ML is huge and hence choosing a niche is essential to build expertise. The domain is very diverse, and some of the sub-domains are NLP, Computer Vision, Deep Learning (LLMs), and Explainable AI (XAI). Focus on what you're passionate about and leverage your expertise to create opportunities aligned with your niche specialization.

Be aware of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. It is common for a learner to feel overconfident at an early stage. This effect can slow them down or prevent them from studying further.
