Embrace the joy of being a beginner again by looking at the world as a playground of possibilities. This ignites intrinsic motivation, transforming the burden of keeping up into the exhilaration of discovery.

I love the saying we have in my country that goes like "not knowing is not embarrassing, not asking is" which was a literal translation with my own words, but coming to a point that it is totally fine not to know all the new and upcoming tools and technologies, but not wanting to know or resisting to learn is pretty embarrassing. I do understand that it can be challenging to keep up with these new solutions popping up every day, but we have to start somewhere, and starting with the shift in mindset would be a pretty good place to begin. Open up your mind to learn new technologies and embrace the journey of lifelong learning.

There are a myriad of options for professional learning from online courses to YouTube and everything in between. The options you choose may depend on whether you enjoy learning on your own or with/from others. I have seen success utilizing professional networks where you are able to ask 'how to' from like-minded professionals using real work-related challenges as examples. This not only fosters individual learning but also offers opportunity to help others in areas where you have expertise.

Many years ago, one could easily complain about the lack of resources for learning. But today we have the luxury of the Internet and we do not have the luxury to complain. We live in a world of knowledge accessible with max two clicks and a few website keys. That being said, the vast majority of knowledge and the ocean of new content can be overwhelming, I get it. So, one step at a time, and we can get this fun and engaging process of learning new technologies started. Set goals, one at a time, cross them off of your list, one line at a time.

Acknowledging each small achievement will keep you motivated. This methodical strategy helps manage the learning process, making it less daunting and outlining a clear progression path.

Stay curious, adaptive, and open to new knowledge by subscribing to industry newsletters and following relevant blogs. Regularly evaluate your progress and adjust your learning approach as needed. Remember, learning new technologies is a continuous journey, so be patient and persistent in your efforts to enhance your skills.

I love technology, but I have also wasted hours testing various platforms. Seeking out people in your organization who are both tech savvy and able to communicate well can be a huge time saver. They can be a valuable resource for where to spend your time, as well as a mentor for how best to utilize the new tech. They may also help relieve stress as you experiment with new ways of approaching your job.

One thing I've learned throughout the years is that technology is advancing quickly. I'm not ashamed to admit that at times, it was moving quicker in my industry than I could keep up with. Wondering what to do if you're feeling the same? Here's a little nudge: don't shy away from asking for help. Reaching out to colleagues or peers who are more knowledgeable in the space not only accelerates your learning but also strengthens your professional network. And let's bust a myth while we're at it: asking for help isn't a weakness; it's a strength. It shows you're keen to grow and not afraid to admit you don't have all the answers. Embrace the strength in asking questions and leveraging the expertise around you.

Let's make sure we all are clear on this one topic: asking for help is totally OK. And even if you feel shy to ask someone, some tips and tricks are a few clicks away. Also, there are a lot of kind people on LinkedIn that would never refuse to help. Reach out to them. I did not know how the valuations and dilution worked. I reached out to someone I had been following for some time and he was kind enough to jump on a short call and explain to me how it worked. Now I do know :-)

Everyone is good at something, including you and me. We do have unique experience in certain topics, so leveraging that experience could be a great place to start and combine it with the current technologies. Also, certain things cannot be replaced or upgraded with technology, sometimes we do need that pure experience of human perspective.

Now, there is no excuse for this one. This is an entirely game of the growth vs fixed mindset. No one can push you to be a growth mindset person, but only you can. So, maybe before we feel overwhelmed by the challenges of AI, we could look into how we can stay curious about many topics, including the essentials of AI, simple ways of learning the most used technologies, and so on. Remember the one-step-at-a-time approach? There we go!

Curiosity pushes you to ask questions, dive deep, and explore the "how" and "why" behind each new tool, making the learning process far from dull. So, if you find yourself daunted by the latest tech wave, try shifting your perspective. View each new technology as a puzzle to be solved or a mystery to be unraveled. This mindset can transform the learning process from a chore into an exciting quest for knowledge and innovation.

Curiosity is a valuable and often underrated trait. It breathes new life into changing circumstances and expands upon current perspectives. When it comes to technology, be curious about both how new tech can benefit how you currently do things, as well as what its limitations are. There may still be important insights and perspectives that you bring from your experience that the tech does not address. As the technology expands your ability to do some things, stay curious about how you can add to what it offers.

A simple way to learn about new technology is when someone sends you a message on LinkedIn about a demo of their tool, schedule the demo. Let them know up front you aren't on the market to buy anything, but are curious about the latest and greatest tools out there. You won't have to seek out how find new technology, it will come to you... thanks to sales and marketing teams for emerging SaaS companies.

I suggest to take this approach, as you progress with work and new tasks come, be honest and ask yourself: - Can this be automated or optimized? - Can this be done better with a deployment of system? - How implementation of a technology will impact people, customers, how will it help in accomplishing business strategy? - Am I focusing on the 20% of efforts that will produce 80% results? Then, take aligned action. Action over perfection. Small progress. Have fun with it.

If you are struggling with Technology, it’s important to remember that no one expects you to be an expert on everything. Invest time and resources into getting up to speed and try and learn what is relevant to your coaching niche.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable! It's ok to need help and support and not be across all forms of technology. Realising that you may not have the time or expertise to learn about all technological advances is a realistic assessment of how you can manage your priorities. Reach out to others to learn from their experience and remain curious and open to exploring how the technology can assist you in what you do. Consult with trusted colleagues to hear how they have accessed technology and learn from them. It will increase your sense of relatedness and confidence.
