I don't find many programmers have a real issue going remote as they are usually people who pick up tech quickly. However, they are sometimes oblivious to the impact their surroundings have on them. They forget to keep their place tidy, void of clutter and to keep their place distraction free so they can focus and do their best work.

Make sure to have the following if you are planning to go remote: - Fast and stable internet - Uninterrupted power supply with backup - A well lit room with a decent camera / webcam - A quiet room with a decent microphone - Comfortable pair of headphones - Your preferred work machine Having these things will set you up for success in a remote environment

Here's how to best take advantage of this flexibility! 1. Sit down and create a timetable filled with 3 work blocks (approximately 2 hours long) as well as break blocks (at least 30 min each) in between. 2. Prior to each work block, plan a series of S.M.A.R.T. goals you want to achieve in that block 3. Adjust your work blocks depending on meetings, catch up sessions, etc. 4.
