Check to see what skills are transferrable. There are plenty of common skills between physical and digital product design. 2. Reading helps. Get to know what's new in this field. UX and Interaction concepts can be picked up from Don Norman's, 'The Design of Everyday Things.' 3. Online certificates are a good way to learn concepts and pick up skills.
