Seguramente son muy atractivas las oportunidades donde estamos ante grandes públicos en lugares hermosos y donde la remuneración es acorde a esto. Sin embargo cuando el propósito que nos mueve puede ser el de ayudar a personas a superar una situación difícil, factores como los anteriormente descritos pueden pasar a un segundo lugar. En mi caso he aceptado con gran alegría dictar conferencias gratuitas a personas en condiciones difíciles, ya que lo que me mueve es el propósito y satisfacción de poder ayudar.

Si estás empezando en el mundo de las conferencias tienes que saber que muy pocos son los que viven exclusivamente de ello, y más ahora que hay una avalancha de conferenciantes low cost (sin formación y sin relevancia) Si quieres destacar, fórmate. Técnicas actorales, oratoria...Si eres uno más, serás uno menos.

Fórmate, sin duda. Por muy experto que seas sobre un tema, por mucha trayectoria profesional que te avale, si no sabes comunicar, si no eres capaz de conectar con el público, todo ese expertise no servirá de mucho.

After spending time as a speaker you realize every opportunity that comes your way may not necessarily be for you. Figure out "who" you want to speak to. Then put systems in place that help you to decipher which engagements are for you and which ones you want to pass on. Maybe you only want to speak close to home, there are systems for that. Maybe you only want to speak with associations there systems that can help you with that. The main thing is figuring out how to get organized so you can spend time doing income generating activities. The stage is about 7% of your time the remaining 93% is building the business and making connections.

2 Research the event

Once you have a clear purpose, you need to research the event that you are considering to speak at. ?Ese evento es para ti? ?A qué precio? Algunos eventos es mejor dejarlos pasar, aunque te paguen tu tarifa sin regateos. Y a otros hay que ir aunque te paguen el 50%. Lo ideal para un ponente profesional es ponerse en manos de una buena agencia y que hagan esa criba y las negociaciones por ti. ?Por qué crees que los mejores deportistas que profesionales tienen agentes que velan por sus intereses? No estás en el mercado para ganar mucho en 1 evento. Estás para aportar valor y participar en los mejores eventos posibles y construir una marca personal que funcione a largo plazo.

Si vas a aceptar la participación en una conferencia, no consideres solo el factor económico, ya que existen oportunidades en donde si bien la remuneración no es alta, éstas generan otros beneficios que son valiosos: - Descubrir tu potencial como conferencista - Perfeccionar tu discurso. - Exponerte ante potenciales clientes. - Hacer networking y crear relaciones de valor.

Si estás dando tus primeros pasos como conferencista, hacer un testeo de tu discurso es fundamental. Para esto recomiendo tener un "par amigo", lo cual consiste en hacer una prueba de tu conferencia ante un grupo de personas cercanas a ti con quienes puedas tener un feedback sincero, y puedas evaluar aspectos como: logística, manejo del tiempo, claridad del mensaje y ayudas audiovisuales entre otros más.
