The biggest thing here that resonated with me is that I've lived through the all face 2 face (F2F) zone (K-12 and bachelor and masters) the "we're trying online" zone (doctoral) and the now we can do anything and everything online (professor & director). If you balance and learn something every day, it's feasible. There is no MAD DASH. Take 1 class at a time if it works for you. Study at night, on the train, listen on your headset. There is a way for everyone WITHOUT losing the quality. Having said that, make sure you go to an accredited institution (with the RIGHT accreditation) and you will certainly have HIGH quality HIGH rigor EXCELLENT educational content. My online MBA course this semester is purely amazing thanks to the students!

Balancing between busy work and learning is a fine art, and here is what worked for me- Prioritization of time, realistic goals and commitment to learn. I set a goal to finish two online learning modules a month, stuck to webinars which were no longer than 3 hours duration, also ones available on weekends or early on in the day before office work starts. Online learning provides the flexibility to learn when and where the time is right for you. Busy schedules can make learning via an in-person class difficult and cumbersome. Many online learning platforms also allow for mobile learning via mobile devices. Taking your learning with you and making it more accessible.

From my experience, if you can blend online with night classes, you can get the best of both worlds. I completed my 4 year degree this way and really enjoyed being able to be in person for classes that were discussion driven or new learning and could benefit from an instructor breaking the information down. It also kept you accountable while balancing your full time work.

I earned my Canadian CPA Accreditation after 22 years of passing my Indian CA Degree while having full time personal and professional responsibilities. Do not be afraid of ‘Thinking Outside the Box’. The mock exams were of 5 hours and everyone told me that you should try to do that replicating actual exam settings by doing it in one sitting. However, I did not have that much time available to devote in a given day and instead split it equally between 2 days. Always remember ‘Less is More’ and ‘Do More with Less’.

One excellent way to leverage your professional experience academically is to pursue a degree through competency based education (CBE). Several accredited and reputable universities offer degrees that can be obtained at much lower costs and a shorter amount of time by demonstrating your existing knowledge in order to accelerate course completion. In order words, if you have obtained the necessary knowledge in your area of study for a specific course, then these universities offer the ability to proceed directly to a final project/capstone that provides you the opportunity to prove your knowledge in the corresponding course, and if successful you pass the course and receive the credit hours.
