Working on many waterfronts and public realm projects in China whilst trained and educated in Canada and the west, it is hard to change reconstructed and defined riverfront engineering constraints although there are emerging acknowledgment towards more sustainable and ecologically friendly methods. Education and practice in terms of Conferences to help spread education and awareness, learn from others in the pathways to find communication methods, and how others have approached or persuaded is very important.
