What do you do if you're considering transitioning from a corporate job to freelance consulting?

As rightly said "Pleasure in the job, puts perfection in the work". The feeling of independence that comes along with freelancing is sheer joy. Moving from being an employee to freelancing is both exciting and intimidating. It's important to take your time and not rush the process. Start by doing thorough research on freelancing and your skills. Understand the market and set fair rates. Create a solid plan for your business and gradually build your brand. Only make the leap to full-time freelancing when you feel financially stable. Keep learning and improving to stay competitive.

I would recommend to start small even if you have to do the work pro bono as this will help you understand how passionate you are and with time once you have sufficiently gained confidence then switching to the free-lancing makes sense. Accept that some of your peers would be moving up the corporate ladder and at same time be ready to forgo the small corporate perks and add-ins. Additionally create a niche and when possible don't fall for every assignment coming your way as this might dilute your brand in the long run. Finally make sure to bifurcate the professional and personal space sometimes it gets blurred. These are the recommendations based on my own experience as a free-lancer.
