1st I will Identify the specific issues hindering the growth and development of the employees for example lack of training opportunities, micromanagement, rigid hierarchies. 2nd the concern to be raised with the management along with proposed solutions like mentorship programs and skill development programmes. These measures will help transform the culture into a growth-oriented one, aligning with the company’s goals and fostering increased autonomy. And convince the management to adopt a more behavioral, non-behavioral, technical, and growth-oriented culture that better aligns with the company's career goals and training and development initiatives

First, I will analyze the root cause to understand how we get to that point. Once the root cause has been discovered, I will develop an action plan to transform the culture that negatively impacts the employee's growth and development. For instance, an organization going through a transformational phase may always be tempted to overburden employees with workload with limited delivery timeline. This sometimes affects the employee development plan as s/he will always work round the clock to meet the delivery timelines with little or no attention to personal development.

Aside from the company-wide training plan, the company supports employees' development plans. I was supported with free internet for personal development.

There's a saying that bad culture eats strategy for lunch. In my personal experience, I have seen leaders develop business growth strategies to the detriment of employees' growth. They set business targets without a science to back them up. They see working continuously without a break as hard work. Leaders want to see a culture shift without their input. The message is "Do as I say not as I do". Some business leaders have no idea of how intentional coaching and mentoring can help sustain their business and make it transgenerational.

Most leaders are not aware that they have to be the change the want to see. A culture of growth and development needs to be cultivated starting from the top leadership levels. Leaders should actively participate in learning opportunities, share their own experiences of growth, and demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development. When employees see leaders prioritizing growth, they are more likely to follow suit and engage in their own development journey.

Actively seeking input from employees about their experiences with the company culture and opportunities for growth and development is a mode for progress monitoring. Conduct regular surveys, focus groups, or one-on-one meetings to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. Engaging employees in the process demonstrates that their voices are valued and can lead to meaningful changes that support employee growth.

Regardless of industry or team size, the goal for any manager should be making sure that their employees are set up for success. This is done by setting expectations, supporting and advocating for them, removing barriers, helping them reach their goals and ensuring they’re growing professionally. Start by soliciting feedback from employees to identify specific areas for improvement. Work on fostering a culture of learning and development by providing opportunities for training, mentorship, and career advancement. Encourage open communication, recognize and reward achievements, and ensure that employees have the resources they need to thrive.
