Realmente, Hard Skills s?o essenciais, porém é igualmente importante que se haja Soft Skills. Percebo isso e estou aprimorando minhas habilidades de Softs. Cada caso tem seu contexto, mas saber se adaptar é muito importante e isso por si já é uma Soft Skill

If your technical expertise isn't translating into promotions, it might be time to focus on developing complementary skills such as leadership, communication, and strategic thinking. Seek opportunities to showcase your ability to mentor others, lead projects, and contribute to the bigger picture of your organization's goals. Additionally, communicate your career aspirations to your superiors and seek their guidance on areas for improvement. Sometimes, it's about demonstrating how your technical skills contribute to the overall success of the team or company.

Seeking feedback can often lead to the opening of many new avenues through which you can hone your skills. We are all human and it is only reasonable that there are others in the world who may have different experiences and skills that you can tap into by asking them for feedback. Seeking feedback can also show initiative and a hunger for knowledge which may also get your skills and attitude noticed.

It's critical to gather feedback to create a plan for where you want to go. You should have a short term plan with things you are working on the coming year and a long term plan for your development 3-5 years ahead. Get feedback from your manager in 1:1s. Analyze what gets posted in job openings internally and externally. Talk to people that are in roles you aspire to. How did they get there? Do they possess skills that you don't currently have?

I particularly value feedback a lot. Feedback from leadership is great for getting a view of the business as a whole and from employees in the same position, it is possible to have a broader and more plural view, and thus gather ideas to improve service provision. I always value this because people have different views and values and this is great for decision making or brainstorming

Many of the best opportunities come from knowing people in the industry. There are many vibrant communities online such as Cisco Learning Network, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, and so on. Going to conferences is a great way of meeting like minded people. You can exchange ideas and thoughts on projects you are working on, problems you have been having. The discussion can continue after the conference. Don't be afraid to building a network inside your company as well. Don't restrict yourself to talking to tech people. Talk outside your silo and gather feedback on ideas you may have.

In a constantly evolving world where innovation and technology are the forces that drive humanity, being connected is fundamental in the corporate world and Linkedin is an excellent facilitator of this process.

There are many technologists that do an excellent job, but don't get highlighted enough as they lack the experience, and sometimes interest, of learning how a business operates. It's great that you built a more resilient network, but what business value did it provide? How much money was the business losing when the network was down? Do the math and show the business how much money you saved them. Did you use automation to solve a task? How many hours is this saving you each year? That's money you're saving the business. You need to showcase this to the business so they understand your value. They may not understand tech, but they do understand CAPEX and OPEX.

Indeed, showcasing achievements and projects is extremely important, however, we must be careful not to involve any confidential information of the company. I prefer an approach that highlights our specialties without compromising the secrecy of what happens in the corporate environment.

Everyone has different opinions on certifications. Personally, I see them as guided learning paths. Whatever your feelings are around certifications, they do open doors. There are many job openings that require them or at least prefer a candidate that has them. If you don't have any certifications, you may lose out to the competition that do have them. They are especially important in the beginning of your career as they show you are investing time. Later on, you can rely more on job experience to show you can add value.

Certifications, especially when issued by the manufacturer itself (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Apple, SAP), are of invaluable worth.

Its rare but, sometimes a career promotion could be upgrading working in another company. Sometimes, companies dont actually value your skills, Certifications, hard working hours and so on. I know this because ive been there. Had all the skills, all the certs, efficienty and nothing worked until i left my previous company and started in a new one fresh. So, dont hesitate. Life is full of choices and we learn as we walk through it.
