Well, It can be frustrating if you feel ur employees aren't taking the initiative to make more of their talents & uncomfortable to think about, but keep in mind that at least 30% of an employee's performance depends on how they are managed, meaning your leadership plays a big role in whether or not an employee reaches their potential. It's possible that while you intend to support and develop your employees, you're stifling their talents through overly lax supervision or poorly communicated goals and other leadership sins. Understanding your employee's poor performance - and perhaps your own - is an exercise in mindfulness and empathy. Even for motivated employees, the feeling of being misinterpreted in their decisions can be very slowing.
