First, to acknowledge accidents don't happen to managers, but workers. I have seen in the past, people used advance language and flowcharts in their training pack. Doing this, workers will most likely zone out, and the important stuff goes in one ear and out the other. It's tough, especially when the majority have limited education. I would tailor it to the crowd. I always keep my training pack simple. Also, instead of just talking at them, use pictorial examples to ask them to spot hazards and make the right choices. Like a game, but with serious consequences if they mess up. Plus, add some competition with rewards for doing well. You'll notice safety training becomes something they actually want to pay attention to.
