A new setup, may be a team lunch or team outing to a resort & informal environment can help institutionalise innovation. I remember taking my entire team to Wonderla Water park & challenging a team member to take a very difficult ride at theme park, & be with him on that ride. It did magic to the mindset of innovation. Key is to define a proper structure to synthesise industry challenges & customer challenges & extrapolate them to an abstract level. I had adopted BPM to map ‘as-is’ & ‘to-be’ scenarios every quarter. This drove the team to innovate.
