Leading by role is the best way to teach your team a positive culture. Respecting all the ideas, whether sophisticated or simple, appreciating and announcing the contribution of each member, and tightening the human bonds, all could gradually help the targeted shift.

Interesting question and must be viewed through cultural differences. here in Denmark standing out isn't promoted, you are expected to fit in and be part of a team so the suggestions of worker of the month or handing out 'prizes' is frowned upon. A positive culture here is one team and so all moves to improve culture must be team based. Regular open and honest meetings, improving collaboration and facing constraints head on is important, recognising individuals in relation to their team support is essential. In any negative culture, I have found that communication is the most promising step towards a solution. Last week, a colleague made a comment about my teaching that I felt was snarky and uninformed. They said it among our administrators. It soured me for a few seconds and then I let it go. Days later, after I had time to think about what I wanted to say to them as a response, an opportunity presented itself. Outdoors in the parking lot under a beautiful blue sky and nobody else was around (that is key), I asked if we could talk about what was said. It was just the two of us, and though they were a little defensive, the fact that I didn't try to call them out in front of other people, made the discussion a positive one. So far so good!

Opening the Dialogue between the team work is a great chance to connect, share , focus on the problems that they face and try to solve them And the leader should have the patience and wise to advise his team to get the best effort of them

The goals need to be achievable and clear. Once the goals are achieved, success needs to be celebrated and staff need to feel the achievement. It's not for the managers to take the glory, it's for the team to be rewarded rightly. If they aren't rewarded or even acknowledged, these goals and targets will mean nothing to them in the future. Celebrating success is the key.

For a good team leader it's compulsory to set Goals on time in presence of all team members via group discussion and give time boundation also so that team work with direction without direction members get distractions.

Goals must be achievable on a daily basis. If goals are a problem it's important to discuss with the team possible alternatives on how to reach goals. I've been on teams where the goal was rigged to be unreachable. I've also been on teams where high performance is purposely unattainable. This does not serve anyone. If the stated goals are set by someone higher you must have a conversation to let them know you are 100 percent trying to help your team.

Setting team goals at the beginning of the year and reflecting on them during end-of-year moderation meetings can help identify areas for development. Establishing targets early on provides a clear direction for progress. Prioritizing work-life balance as a non-negotiable ensures the well-being of team members. Setting common good practices fosters consistency and cohesion within the team.

One of the things that worked at our school was a process for building relationships between teachers. It is called The Art of Group Conversation and without talking about any of the issues or conflicts. It helps group members develop connections, build rapport, and increase the trust between them. Teaching can be so stressful, and individuals often withdraw or become negative towards others out of their own fear and need to feel safe. Please stop calling the school environment “family”. The relationships in this environment can feel familiar but people are there to work, use their enormous problem-solving skills and abilities. The “family” appellation contributes to a pressurized environment to conform to an amorphous ideal. Encourage manners as a framework for all to engage. It’s more inclusive.

As a teacher, I firmly believe that supporting each other is the cornerstone of a positive team culture. As a lecturer who has been teaching in both small and big universities and as a part of cross-cultural teams, I can strongly affirm that putting together a support system whereby more experienced colleagues mentor those with less experience is paramount to building strong relationships and, as a result, critical for establishing a positive attitude towards team work. Depending upon the size of the institution, the mentorship program can be formal or informal and based upon volunteer requests for support. Regardless, all the members of the team should understand that putting in place a solid support system where best practices are shared is beneficial for the entire team.

It's crucial to recognize that there's likely an underlying reason behind the negative culture, whether it's miscommunication, differing expectations, or unresolved conflicts. Team dynamics is a direct result of the leadership. If a positive culture is not a characteristic of a teaching team or any team, the first thing to look at is the supervisor and the entire top-down system. Some examples include tolerating toxic employees, bullying, favoritism, and lack of a good hiring system, especially if it doesn’t take team dynamics into account. While some managers place the burden of the culture on the team, good leaders understand that a strong and positive team culture starts with them: their lead, their principles, and their foundation for the decision-making process.

One thing I have found helpful is adjusting self to look like the change you desire to see. Take self out of the way and administer truth to every situation from the eyes of the person needing assistance.
