En primer lugar,ante los cambios constantes en el mundo ya sea por temas políticos, bélicos, salubridad, escases, entre otros; debemos listar los nuevos peligros existentes y determinar los nuevos riesgos asociados del cadena de suministros. En segundo lugar, debemos comparar la lista original de riesgos asociados con la nueva lista. En tercer lugar, para el caso de la lista de riesgos original debemos revisar sí las contramedidas o acciones de contingencia siguen siendo eficientes y efectivas; para ello debemos tener los conocimientos actualizados. En cuarto lugar, debemos establecer las nuevas contramedidas y unir toda la información obtenida en una nueva matriz de riesgo. La identificación de riesgos debe realizarse de forma proactiva.
