What do you do if your supervisor doesn't understand your career goals in the Payment Systems field?

If supervisor/Employer doesn't understand our career goal despite it is related to payment system field, it'll be bit of problematic situation but you must find out the reasons why your supervisor/employer is not interested by ensuring: 1. Your career goal must be related to payment system field 2. It must be achievable and organization's work as well as your responsibilities must not affect while perusing this. 3. Make sure, It must benefit the organization as well as It must increase your and your organization's efficiency. 4. It would be beneficial if your goal matches with development of technologies and know how. 5. It must align your skills and interest.

When your supervisor doesn't understand your career goals in the Payment field, it's essential to take proactive steps to communicate effectively and align your aspirations with organizational objectives.

Your supervisor may not allow you to pursue your career goals in many situations. In my case, I decided to enhance my skills and technical expertise in the area of Fraud detection and security in the payment system field by pursuing Machine learning algorithms to analyze transaction patterns and detect anomalies that could indicate fraud in the payment system but my employer was bit stressed when I informed him about this as he was already enough satisfied and happy with my existing performance and during this time, he became somehow dependent on me and did not want to substitute my work with other employee. When I respectfully explained the benefits and improvements about this to my employer, he couldn't refuse my participation to pursue.

In my case, I emailed my supervisor requesting a meeting to discuss my career development specifying my interest in enhancing technical expertise in fraud detection and security in payment system. I explained to my employer about my thoughts and research i have done aligning with the achievement of company's goal. I showed them the current trend and potential savings by implementing security improvements. I also clearly articulate my career goal in my mail and asked for the feedback.

In my case, I was already conveyed my interest and decision of enhancement of technical expertise in fraud detection and security improvement in payment system through Email and in the meeting with my employer. I started writing and reminding my employer about this through follow up emails. I also proposed the adjustments in the plan that could be done. I collected evidences and examples which was supporting my decision and at the same time benefiting the organization also and continued to write mails to my employer. I was always polite and humble while putting my point. As my plan was in writing, It helped me by ensuring mutual understanding and commitment.
