Often times the final solution looks simple, and the rigor that has gone into analyzing the problem to arrive at the solution is not very transparent to the leadership. The best way to bridge the gap is to provide periodic updates and validate the approaches you have taken on a periodic basis. This will help you differentiate yourself and establish your credentials as a problem solver.
