What do you do if your Robotics programming encounters a problem?

In my experience, the first thing I try to identify as possible is ... how the last thing I did in the robot, I occasion a mistake? If the answer is a yes ... was it in hardware or software? Once the problem was identified where it was originated, it is only a matter of returning a step back and reviewing what we implement or modified.

To troubleshoot robotics programming issues, follow these steps: 1) Identify the problem, 2) Check hardware connections, 3) Review software code, 4) Use debugging tools, 5) Test sensors and actuators, 6) Verify communication protocols, 7) Check configuration settings, 8) Consult documentation, 9) Update software, 10) Reproduce the problem, 10) Conduct systematic testing, and 6) Collaborate with team members to identify issues.

Verificar el Código y la Lógica Revisar el Código: Asegúrate de que no hay errores de sintaxis o lógicos en tu código. Usa un editor de texto con resaltado de sintaxis y capacidades de depuración para facilitar esta tarea. Logs y Mensajes de Error Leer los Logs: Revisa los logs generados por el sistema robótico. To effectively solve a problem with your robot, start by clearly identifying the issue. Determine the expected behavior versus the actual outcome, and whether the problem lies in the hardware, software, or environment. Assess if the issue is consistent or intermittent, and if it impacts a single component or the entire system. Gather detailed information using sensors, cameras, logs, or debuggers to monitor and analyze the robot's performance and data.

I recommend that you have identified the problem as mentioned before. 1-What type of error generates the robot? of movement? speed? of syntax? Of configuration? 2-Identifies the code line or configuration where you think the problem can be, try to understand what the Teach Pendat says. 3-Busca the error code that the teach pendat throws you, and tries to chore it by changing the configuration. 4-If it is by code, check your types of movement used, as well as the scheduled speeds. 5-If you believe that the error has to do with the type of movement used or speed, re-execute your code in the robot and lower the speed if the error does not return when running into a low speed, the problem is at the point 4.

Don’t forget to ask a colleague, he/she might have seen this problem already and might have a solution ready to be used. Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Actualizar el Software/Firmware: Asegúrate de que estás utilizando las versiones más recientes del software y firmware del robot, ya que las actualizaciones pueden corregir errores conocidos. Validación y Pruebas Pruebas de Integración: Después de aplicar las soluciones, realiza pruebas de integración para asegurarte de que todos los componentes del sistema funcionen juntos sin problemas. Pruebas en el Mundo Real: Ejecuta el robot en el entorno real para asegurarte de que el problema ha sido resuelto y que no hay efectos secundarios.

If you're lucky, all of your problems will occur in the lab. The reality is sometimes robots will fail in the hands of your customer. Be professional, and take your customer feedback humbly. If they misunderstood the operation of the system, is there a way you can modify the interface to make it more intuitive? Are they using it in a novel way that you might incorporate into future design iterations? Be mindful that although they aren't experts in your particular system, they are the experts in their domain / use case, so you can always learn something from your customer. Your customer's feedback is the most valuable information you will ever receive, cherish it!
