It always comes down to examples of situations like that from our experiences. My advice is to tell the story about the time we showed this skill. And not just tell the story, actually. Tell the story in a compelling way, convincing way, and passionate way.

First, words like “adaptability” and “resilience” can be tricky. Sometimes, they seek only to ferret-out arrogance, insubordination, and rigidity, etc. Unfortunately, they can be terms-of-art, too. Second, terms-of-art are a kind of euphemism. In some criminal organizations, for example, a “stand-up guy with a can-do attitude” is a career-criminal who will do anything to protect the organization. These days, some academic posts require similar loyalty and skills. Third, before answering either a jargon-rich, loaded, or vague question, one should always seek clarity. For example: adaptable and resilient “after what” and “to what,” etc. If clarity isn’t forthcoming, they may be looking for “a stand-up guy with a can-do attitude.” Good luck.
