What do you do if your public speaking skills are lacking confidence due to problem-solving challenges?

Try not to worry about it. I know that's easier said than done, but here are a few things I do to problem-solve challenges when giving my talks. 1. Prepare for the unexpected - everything that can go wrong will go wrong - especially when you've been lucky enough to have a long speaking career like mine. 2. Take a sheet of paper and draw a vertical line down the centre. On the left write down all the things that could go wrong - problems - from technology to hecklers. On the right write down your solutions - what you're going to do. This quick preparation will increase your confidence. 3. Be willing to laugh at yourself, internally or out loud, when a problem occurs. Not being uptight or taking problems too seriously will help.

You will see different people at different skill levels and learn a lot from the evaluations that happen at the end of each session. These evaluations are supportive and instructive which will help you develop.

i been Pro speaking for 15 years. Here’s a few tips that absolutely work. 1) Run your wrists under a cold tap. Until gets uncomfortable. It helps reset nerves and everything. 2) Old TV news reader trick here. Eat a small banana 20 mins before you present. Potassium helps settle nerves. 3) Recognise that nerves, anxiety is all part of the speaker game. Until it’s not. Keep going. The career you want is on the other side of nerves. I’ve been there. Everyone you admire as a speaker has also.
