What do you do if your project management skills are becoming outdated in a rapidly evolving industry?

This is true that things are changing rapidly in every sector either we talk about technology or methodology in project management. And it is possible that might i lag at some point in this fast pace world. But best to tackle this is to take a one step back and first of all to access his own knowledge and understanding of the things and then find put what i am missing to be fully productive in the current environment.

I will conduct a self-assessment to identify gaps in my project management skills and competencies. Evaluate which areas of project management have evolved or emerged as critical in the industry and determine where I need to upskill or acquire new knowledge.

According to me knowledge is like air …yes air it is available everywhere but with one constraint Air of every place is not fit for breathing. Same applies for knowledge as well. When we go for learning we need to find out where and how we get the best of it. Learning from expert means we not only receive knowledge but we also receive experience from them.

I suppose the best approach to keep up with all of your project management abilities is to join the project manager community. We may cross paths with persons in the same industry or from other industries. We basically discuss about our lives at random in this community/forum, but occasionally one of the group members may bring up an issue with their project or projects. By hearing other people's perspectives, we can get fresh insights from one other's struggles. You will find someone with more than ten years of experience or with a prestigious certification proving their competence as a project manager in this forum/community.

Playing with chemicals are dangerous but playing with chemicals in with caution and in control manner always help to enhance the knowledge and help figure out the end result. Same can happen with management tool if we try some new tool with caution and taking consideration of whatever required in project management helps to gain a quite fruitful outcome which can help in better management, reporting or budgeting aa well.
