What do you do if your professional network isn't helping you find job opportunities in technical support?

Upskilling and approaching the right people. Also check if you are missing something in your resume. Try to add more ATS-friendly words.

Some of those in my network tried as best as they could to assist me getting a new job. Got radio silence from others. I was already in the expanding my network mode. Putting it on me to take of business instead of relying on someone else.

1. Don't give up, it might be your existing network does not have a new opening or new connections to refer you. 2. Publish your articles and showcase your skills 3. If your current network are similar mind and designation people, better to connect with seniors.

I have two resume' now due to different job opportunities. No embelishing, just plain english of what my skills are. Potential employer doesn't want to read through the drival.

1. Make sure resume is not more than 2 pages. 2. Highlight more on the value you brought in your current or last place. 3. Know to prioritize and arrange the resume in correct order.

Used to a person would open a newspaper, browse through the want ads. Then once you found the ad to apply for you called the phone number. Today everything is so sterile and no human interaction, until and if you do make it through the AI gauntlet. Even then you are not guaranteed a job. Don't tell me I need a branding. My work speaks for itself.

1. Find for few job titles that you would like to be as in your next role. 2. Check for the common key words in the job description or requirement and make sure you add those words in your resume and online job profiles.

Add more skills. That is a laugh. Everything I have learned has been through the job. One of the worker bees that kept things moving. There was no time to get certified otherwise it would look like I was slacking on the job. Sure in the perfect world you could make time for what you are talking about. All the jobs I have had had born in dates on tasks. If you did those tasks, the managers would see that and dump more. So tell me when the new skills should learned.

As explained earlier, when the network didn't provide fruit, making efforts in other areas. The various apps, online ads etc. All say the same. 'Thank for your interest, we will let you know'. Then the foolow up, 'We have decided to go in a different direction'. Rejection after rejection. Not just me, others that are also struggling after being let go.
