How can we expect our employees and the tools we develop to be "fair" and "ethical" if we do not lead with this example. From my experience, if you think there is an issue, as yourself WHY is it an issue? Understand all dynamics and aspects of that issue. Then only can you truly look to resolve it or convince people to resolve it.

Seeking feedback regularly is important and understanding where the deviations are from your set goals and what are the development areas. Based on the above points & mutual agreement- creating a plan with your performance manager or HR for your growth and learning with a set timeline is helpful in ensuring you meet your development areas and are working on the feedback. Checking in with your managers on a regular basis to share your progress and any concerns is the foundation of performance cycle.

I think there might be blindness from both party's, Understand that first there could be un communicated issues.
