Normally I would start by connecting AI to things they use every day. For example, I would explain how Netflix suggests movies they might like or how their phone’s photo gallery can automatically recognize and organize pictures of people. These are AI working in the background to make life easier. I would also brake down the concepts and walk them through step by step, to be sure they follow along at each step. Also I would give them a chance to interact with simple AI tools or demos like GitHub Copilot for writing code with the help of AI.

We don't need more AI theory - we need more AI examples and practical use cases. Therefore, it's important to explain concepts in layman's terms - what will be faster, easier, or different. Comparing it to a current workflow and making it more practical gives bonus points.

Because usually it happens that one person assumes that second person would know this and doesn't overexplain when required and the second person thinks it is stupid to ask the first person about it and ignored asking leading to further misunderstanding when the concept is actually applied in engineering.
