What do you do if your network deadlines seem impossible to meet?

No matter what, never let your deadline pass. I will use an analogy of an auto mechanic. A good mechanic makes sure there is gas, tires filled; engine and transmission are in good shape prior to making any changes. A mechanic has all of the parts available to him/her and knows that parts can be bad. They know to have a stock of everything needed. The same goes for a network. It must be planned weeks or months prior to execution – pending the assignment. Make sure all components are quality and new. There have been several times that I purchased hardware that took a "dump" the same day I was setting up networks. Always have a contingency plan. Assume things do not always work, so have spare parts, whatever they might be.
