What do you do if your mentee is experiencing burnout?
Burnout can creep up unexpectedly, and as a mentor, noticing the warning signs in your mentee is crucial. It's a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when someone feels overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. As the stress continues, they begin to lose the interest and motivation that led them to take on a certain role in the first place. If your mentee is showing signs of burnout, such as a lack of enthusiasm about work or life, increased cynicism, or a drop in productivity, it's time to step in with support and guidance.
