What do you do if your lesson plan falls flat in the classroom?

Ehrn your plans go to another unexpected road, you need to go with them, may be there is another chances for success, don't be irritated but just open this new door and go through it trusting your experience, and your efforts that you have done

During planning, just think about backups, expect the unexpected, this will make you feel safe during presentation or lesson. To make your expectations wider in range, just share your presentation/ lesson with your colleagues or experts and ask them to give you their own throughout

We learn all through our lives, any unexpected situation, is just new experience. The real feedback you need is that : How did you respond to unexpected situation? And then plan for training to be better

Taking risks in the classroom is the sign of a good teacher; one committed to making progress with their students. With risks comes potential failure or hurdles let's call them. So yes, absolutely adapt, adjust, call the lesson out for what it is. But share your struggle, go back to the drawing board and be proud you stepped outside the fold.

Get the elephant out of the room. If the lesson is falling flat, everyone knows. So, pretending like it's not, or plowing through anyway means you have failed your students twice. Instead, if the lesson is going badly, not as planned, or not working, just stop it. Tell the students this is not how I envisioned it going and what you were trying to accomplish. Then, get creative on the spot. Even ask for ideas from the students. This happened to me early in my career. While the lesson bombed, I earned "street cred" from the students that I would not waste their time. And I learned a valuable lesson that not every lesson goes as planned, and it's ok to change on the fly.

This has happened to me multiple times. In my experience, the key is to acknowledge and respond. As much as it is awkward and nerve wracking for you, don't push through just because it's on your list. Ultimately we want to support the learner, not our egos.

Adapt in real-time: Be flexible and willing to adapt the lesson on the spot. Introduce alternative activities, change the pace, or modify the content to better suit your students' needs and interests.

One experience that I had from online meeting is that to do if you had Internet problem during presentation? At the first time when Internet stopped, I became very irritated and confused, meeting stopped for more than 15 minutes till my colleagues fixed the problem. Then, after this experience, I used to make three sources of Internet before each presentation. I had training for how to decrease Internet usage during presentation, however this was a good example for how to manage unexpected events

Even lessons (and sometimes PD’s) that I’ve delivered dozens of times have crashed and burned in certain schools and classrooms. It happens, and when it does I’ll sometimes stop, acknowledge it and ask straight out what they think the issue is. Having open conversations like this can build trust and start some important dialogues that provide more information than any formative test.
