What do you do if your late career in User Experience Design (UED) is met with challenges?

We live in exciting technological times! Change is the new normal, so be: - open & enthusiastic about at least one upcoming/current change and read up on the topic (Why? This could become your specialization) - Don't overload yourself: plan your day in blocks and include e.g. 1 hour of further training. I also have a 3h block on Friday for saved news/trying out new things - Active: Try out new tools! (if they are available to you, because doing is better than reading) Stay up to date. Back then graphic design (print) evolved to web design, then to UX/UI etc. and now comes AI, AR/VR, gaming... everything is a user experience! :)

Mostly when it comes to UED there are constant changes every time and learning to embrace change can help you grow as a late designer. If you lack the ability to embrace changes you may be setting your self up to loosing opportunities.

Mentorship gives you a soft landing in any career you choose, because your potential mentor would have passed through the exact stage that you are and who best to put you through that a sound mentor.

By chatting with all sorts of other UED folks, you get exposed to new ways of seeing things and solving problems that you might never have thought of on your own. Plus, the people you meet through networking can become your cheerleaders and advisors, which is super helpful as UED keeps changing and evolving.

Artificial intelligence now presents itself as a tool to address many needs, questions, and even generate a variety of options, but only by maintaining an update not only in tools but also in users' emotional intelligence will we be able to face any challenge that leads us to deliver value propositions for them. The options to learn more are open, the ability to seize them is the first challenge.

I don't think there is much to say here. The moment you stop learning, you seize to be relevant. Constant learn can help you speed up your knowledge base as a UED.
