Definitely this would be the first step while deciding the overall WFM and timekeeping related requirements. We need to outline and document, existing processes of timekeeping and absence management. It will give insights on paint points, where and why new solution should be implemented. Also, we need to check which existing features are working fine and which new features and process need to be incorporated. These points can help to decide whether to keep current system fully or not or partially, overall features subscriptions, and license/entitlement for future products.

Once you outline your current processes, pain points and new feature requirements, we can go for overall requirements refinements and create a baseline. It helps to create a goal for a product implementation. Cleary defined requirements and expectations helps to finalize a product as well. Also, all requirements should be aligned with local and federal (central) labor laws and regulations. Report and analytics requirement should be finalized at this stage.

Whether we are first time implementing WFM/HCM product or transitioning from old one, we can create basic training program to onboard all stakeholders smoothly. Also, while implementing it should be tested by all concerned stakeholders including various employee group. Based on their feedback, product and process can be optimized before actual implementation. Product behavior should monitor after implementation as well using various reports and feedback of end-user, so valid enhancement can be done.
