From my experience, job seekers think they want feedback but they really don’t. They ask for comments on their resume but then get defensive. They ask for comments on their LI profile but change nothing. I’m a recruiter and people ask for feedback but I’ve stopped giving it.

In my view many job seekers aren’t willing to make an effort. We suggest resume changes but they can’t be bothered. We ask for a letter addressing the opportunity and they send me a form letter. I ask for an updated resume today because the decision maker is going away. They send it a week later. And then they wonder why they aren’t getting interviews. Job seekers - get off your behind and you will see results.
