So often advisors/supervisors think an intern or employee values certain aspects of an opportunity but may be completely missing it...and will never know unless you let them know. What's just as important as letting them know you're not "feeling it", is how you share this with them. Try reversing it and ask yourself, "If I'm not living up to their expectations, how would I want to hear this?" While not everyone appreciates hearing news the same way, the additional forethought you put into the conversation will go a long way with "helping them help you".
