What do you do if your higher education career could benefit from continuous learning?

One of the questions I often ask myself is: what/which learning opportunities will help me provide better service to my students, colleagues and community members? Moreover, I try to identify exactly what I'm looking for in terms of skills development, new information, or questions that I need answered. This process helps me better select continuous learning opportunities that align with what I'm hoping to gain in growth, skills, etc.

I think One should take a break and explore formal Education options, Having said that, Let me Clarify that it's a Traditional way of Solving the Problem! Modern Approach would be to Explore Online Education with a focus on Imbibing or improvement of your Skills!

As an educator committed to continuous learning, I embrace a two-part process. First, I create detailed mind maps in Canva to visualize the connections between diverse fields I'm passionate about, such as education, technology, and social impact. This visual approach helps me identify knowledge gaps and pinpoint areas for growth. Next, I turn to platforms like Google Learning Pathways, Coursera, and LinkedIn Learning. These platforms offer a wealth of high-quality resources ideally suited to fill the gaps I've identified in my mind map. This targeted approach allows me to expand my expertise efficiently and effectively in areas like AI in education, social media marketing, and project management.

I've found it helpful for continuous learning in my higher education career to take a targeted approach to networking. I regularly visit my LinkedIn network and use the "Manage my network" feature to filter my connections by company, location, service categories, and other relevant criteria. This allows me to identify and connect with professionals who share my interests and expertise. I also use this feature to find new connections in specific areas I want to learn more about. By engaging with their content in comments or using InMail credits to message them directly, I've built valuable relationships and stayed informed about the latest trends in education and technology.
