No recuerdo algun proyecto SIG que haya fracasado, pero es posible. Inicialmente estos proyectos demandaban muchos recursos en cuanto a disposición y recolección de datos, digitalización manual, medios de almacenamiento, etc. Lo cual consumía tiempo y presupuesto. Estos incovenientes si bien no han desaparecido del todo, ya se han simplificado en gran medida por los avances tecnológicos, la gran variedad actual de herramientas y la apertura y acceso a información ampliamente disponible ahora.

Por ello, han surgido varias alternativas exitosas mediante aplicaciones muy amigables, intuitivas y de uso simple que además brindan un servicio oportuno y personalizado para solventar cualquier interrogante o problema.
