I agree but I would not underestimate the value of transparency,Explain why your rates are set higher, reiterate your value proposition (basically the value you will bring specifically to them/this project) & reconfirm your commitment to helping them bring their dreams/ideas to life. You can either do this via an email or set up a catch up call and carefully,slower,mindfully explain your position then. They might say no,they might say they need to think about it, they often say yes if they are in the financial position to and value what you do. Hence the need to highlight your value in a manner that speaks to their needs/desires/frustrations

Check portfolios and compare with prices. - Upgrade your skills Let's say you only do visual identity, upgrade or learn deeper aspects of design skills that can solve deep problems for your customers - Upgrade your offer Create an offer that sets you apart from the competitors, create a real reason why they must not go to the competition.
