This sounds like a no-brainer, but if you don't know your goals, it's hard to act in a focused way. If you can build your network without thinking too much about it and without having to focus, you don't need this advice anyway. But if you need to be intentional, you need to know your intentions first. Be clear about what you want to achieve and what your interests are. Knowing where you want to be and working toward it makes things a lot easier.

Once you have defined your goals, you need to identify who are the people who can help you achieve them. These could be experts, influencers, peers, or potential employers in Information Security. You can use various sources to find them, such as online platforms, blogs, podcasts, newsletters, events, or publications.
