If you realize the fact thar your experience is not reflected well, this is first and very important step towards improvement. Next step shall be to identify what could not be reflected eg knowledge , application , management , issue resolution . Try to work on improving that part with some rehearsal ( no harm or no shame in doing so) Try to navigate the discussion towards what you are good at . For example if you are good at issue resolution , engage with interviewer by giving some example. Prepare well and most importantly never pretend to know what you don’t

In my experience in interviews, it has been useful not only to list the projects I have worked on but also to highlight those that were challenging in terms of design and the combination of soft and hard skills. When these skills were worked on in an adequate proportion, they successfully contributed to the development of the project. This demonstrates a person's ability to solve technical problems in a challenging real-world context, which requires innovation and quick adaptation to difficulties. It is important to emphasize the problem-solving capacity.

Show them some of your past work that exemplifies the quality and technical acumen. That’s actual proof of your experience and capabilities .

An example that consist of problem definition, verification of problem, what item to be check , is there any systemic cause, what is approach taken to solve the issue, until how to collaborate with relevant parties. Is there vendor or licensor to be communicated as they have more experience. Seek help to central team if any or subject matter expert.

I believe, It would be effective to demonstrate/communicate what the candidate has actually done so far like solving any complex problem in the previous projects or dealing with Clients' engineering challenges. Often the interviewers want to know your problem solving approach rather than just the technical skills you possess. This will help the recruiter to bet on you for any pratical problem in hand. This is more suitable for middle level engineering personnel to land up in a good profile. For entry level design engineers often the technical skills matter along with their confidence of building onto those skills.

An example of the success story. First explain the challenge it posed, then what were the probable solutions you thought of, next is the most suitable solution and how you figure that out and at last how you surmounted that challenge and made it a success story. In a broader term the PDCA i.e. Plan Do Check Act cycle of the challenge. Furthermore, how you captured and recorded the learning so that it can help your organization in future.

Practice makes anyone perfect. Practicing speaking is an underrated preparation. From tone to voice modulation everything matters. Driving your point home takes a lot more than having the correct answer. It needs to be backed up by effective delivery. For that practicing speaking is very important.

I believe the key point here is communication. You must have a proper Idea on what to say and when to say it. Make sure you are prepared well enough and practice enough before attending an Interview. Highlight all the Skills you have and present it in a neat way with examples.

When delivery message, it must be follow project comunication plan and procedure which are clearly stated media for comunication, what are the message to be delivered with simple structuring wording, how to organize comunication, and why those are message important and those are needed clarity. Second, those message must be stated clearly, what are expected from other diciplines. Of course, from project point of view, mitigation potential risk may impact to timeline and cost

I had an experience in a previous Company i had worked before, when i went for its interview. I was explaining some designs i had carried out previously and for some reason the interviewer did not see or understand my explanations. So i went to the white board and i started sketching what i was explaining and instantly the interviewer understand.

Practice speaking is underrated but crucial. Tone, modulation, and delivery matter as much as content. Driving your point requires effective delivery, not just knowing the answer. Practice speaking for better communication.

Even if you've prepared well, it's tough to cover all your experiences in a short interview, especially if the conversation is mostly one-way. So, it's really important to work together with the interviewer. Encourage them to join in and ask questions that help you understand how much they know about engineering design. This way, you can adjust your answers to match their level of understanding. When both sides participate, it clears up any confusion and makes sure the interviewer really gets how experienced you are. The goal is to turn the interview into a lively discussion where both of you share ideas and insights to fully grasp your qualifications.

I disagree with this partially. There are excellent engineers with not so good communication skills. It is the duty and responsibility of the interviewer to be engaged with the candidate during the interview and ask probing questions to evaluate. If not, candidate should reconsider joining the team.

Ask the interviewer about the current design challenges being faced by the company. Or talk about what you think they are and then ask if you have it right. Once they give a response, you can give your thought on the nature of the challenge. You do not need to give a solution - it is unlikely that would be possible in such a short period - but you can show your ability to first understand a design challenge and then formulate a strategy.

The interviewer could be engaged by asking clarification questions, mentioning genuine previous work experience, allowing the interviewer to interact with your story, and making them feel like they were present when it happened.

In this case, Since the subject is not corelate with our skill, I will nothing to lose, because I understand my weakness and strength. The key point is said No idea when i facing it.

In the present corporate world, follow up doesn't work. Nobody has the time or inclination to provide feedback to individual candidates. The feedback should be figured out during the interview itself. A responsible interviwer provides hints or indications on the performance during the meet itself. Probably such feedbacks are given to candidates at CXO or senior levels where it is not bulk hiring but focused on few individuals.

Use bullet points and clear, simple language. Avoid long paragraphs. Use headings and subheadings to make it easy for the employer to scan and read your resume. Make sure to highlight the most important information and keep your resume to one or two pages.

Try to use numbers when talking about your design. This will make it clear that you were very focused on the performance of your design and ensuring it was optimised. Numbers also stand out when reading through text, so this approach will make your resume stand out among the rest.
