I’d like to add that a setback in your IT career doesn’t have to be related to personal failure. It can be, but the outcome for a project can be a failure without you having done anything wrong. We work in complex systems and workplaces and it’s good to self-reflect, but you could just be a victim of circumstances. So do identify that root cause and if it’s something you can and want to change, by all means, do that. However sometimes budgets are just cut and pandemics happen, and it’s not a failure on your part.

Seeking feedback from colleagues in your IT career, especially after experiencing setbacks, can be valuable for personal and professional growth. Using sites like LinkedIn lets you find people in the same industry and allows you to ask questions. I have found solutions to issues from my network and was given perspectives that I wasn’t even looking at.

When a setback occur, the best way to bounce back in my opinion is to set a new learning goal. If the reason you failed is based on your skillset, you have easily identified where the gap is. Time to set a learning goal to make sure repeat setbacks don't occur again in the future.

Always make short notes with bullet points including yours next day plan,some shortcuts regarding yours tech stack. Notes increase yours habit to be more manageable.

Keep yourself positive and confident. It helps to increase yours attitude towards life. It also helps to work positively on yours long term plan
