Different role in same company may staganent your growth, so either you have to convience the boss with backing of study in the field (Scientific, Utility, Businesss) and the importance and need to relign with the present trend in field of Drones.

Learning and skill alignment is continuous processs. But realignment can not be streched to a level of killing an idea. Realignment is not always a solution if vision is clear after the hard work of analysis and practicality of project you need to being convienced about a idea will always present good results. I will like to state an example from my profession of flying in IAF. I had proposed planned and executed reoperationalised of an airfield(Highest Airfield in the world). Not many were ready to go ahead with idea due Geopolitics, Difficulties in operation due terrian and aircraft limitations. But i was able to convience my bosses despite the objection and it turned out to be a straetigic move for Nation security. So back yourself for a well thought out idea.
