This could end up being an uncomfortable conversation. If you feel truly troubled you might say the wrong thing, simply speak from the heart. If you’re like me and don’t want to lay yourself out there, you can take a more objective approach. Perhaps bring in a trusted 3rd party or try one of the communication strategies that color code the different styles. We did this exercise in groups at a previous job and it was eye opening! Once you break these styles down, you can develop an understanding of the types and recognize their use in others and yourself. It doesn’t mean anyone must change. It is simply to create a better understanding of others.

I am totally agreeing with you. Effective communication means a lot. If the line of communication is not right at the beginning, it will not be good for the business nor the work relationship. It is imperative that all parties have a lending ear and be fair about everything.
