One thing I have found helpful is to stop producing content and spend a few days really engaging with ypur audience. Read and respond to more of their content. Take the time to get more familiar with where they are right now. What are tge commonalities you find in a cross section of posts? What is it they are looking for or talking about.. You will find clues to your direction for your next article/post. Keep up the engagement and interactions as that is the best way to connect, and learn what you need to offer of value. It can be really eye opening if you have not done it in a while.

You must make sure that the language you use is engaging. This is so that the audience can understand your contents. You must know who your target audience are. This is so that you can use language that resonates with them. Don't use language that is too hard or too deep. Even if it's aimed at technical savvy audience, avoid overusing technical terms or jargons. You must also be straightforward when writing. Just go straight to the point. Avoid elaborating too much on one point.

I always try to write it assuming whoever is reading it, is a layman. The right amount of context in your articles, and a relatively simpler language greatly help. Another thing I like to do is write the blog as I would want to and add keywords later. It keeps the language organic, and the read doesn't feel like a chore.

It's no replacement for having additional editors and feedback, but it's also really helpful for the self-editing process.

Working with a mentor and/or editor is incredibly valuable to helping you grow as a writer. They can offer feedback suggestions that you might not have otherwise considered, from structure to phrasing certain words or sentences. It is also helpful to measure statistics on your posts, like views, shares/likes, and unique visitors to your site where the blog is posted to see how effective your reach is.

Editing is a skill, and it can be hard to see issues with your own writing. Here are three things that I always do to my writing when I revise: 1. Modify passive sentences to active voice. Active voice is much more engaging to readers, and it's also easier to understand. 2. Choose simpler words. For example, there is no reason to say "utilize" when you can say "use". There is no reason to say "holistic" when you mean "full" or "complete". Simplify language to make it the most engaging and understandable. 3. Delete sentences that don't add value. When I edit, I often find that I can delete the first sentence and sometimes the first paragraph that I wrote. Start your blog at the point you are trying to make and delete the "throat clearing"

I step away from the draft and revisit it after a few hours, or a few days. Sometimes all it needs is a little breathing room.

If I already know that my ideas are not being communicated effectively, it means I have already received some negative feedback. As for feedback, it should ideally come from my target audience. Some posts are very specific and cater to a niche crowd, so they may not garner high numbers in terms of likes and comments. However, as long as they are reaching the relevant audience, I assume that I am doing something right. Considering all this, if I still feel that I am not able to communicate my ideas effectively, my first thought is that I am lacking clarity conceptually. I can only simplify my ideas when they make 100% sense to me. After this, I can focus on making the content relatable and easy to understand.
