Define your goals, but also make sure you've operationally defined your measures. So, "users find things more easily" is better defined as "a 2% increase in correct completion of [some task]." This objective measure sets a standard that isn't biased.

Honestly, try not to take this too far depending on what you're working on. Unless you have reason to believe that your products are used differently based on race, you don't need to segment and over sample. If you believe the assumptions in your statistical test hold true, then you're likely fine.

Once you have your goals, criteria, methods, and participants ready, you can start collecting and analyzing your feedback. Depending on the methods used, you may need different tools, formats, or techniques. It's important to prepare and test your feedback materials to ensure they are clear, relevant, and easy to use. Additionally, you should record and document the feedback data in a consistent, organized, and accessible way. This includes using audio, video, screen recordings, notes, surveys, or analytics tools. Lastly, analyze and interpret the feedback data to extract key findings, patterns, themes, and insights. I think of this more as the "teams goals and criteria." As a researcher, I find it helps to come in indifferent to the outcome as a means to reduce your own bias. The job of evaluation is to get as close to the truth as possible. So, you're there to help a team reach their goals, and it's your job to find out how close they have come in the present iteration.
