Before I ever became a global HR leader I was a temp and my advice is to center and prioritize doing great work first as a temporary employee. 1. Have ongoing conversations in check-ins about your interest in working permanently, define your why and be clear in how you can add value. 2. Cultivaterelationships across the organization beyond the people you work with every day so that you are seen and experienced as part of the team; 3. Invest in self-learning and take advantage of everybtraining to demonstrate a commitment to growth, 4. Show appreciation to those who give of their time and show support to you. 5. Don't let a no, or a not now, define your value. A closed door means there is a better door for you to walk through.

Being on contract for ER is a beach ball opportunity. Getting to FT requires 3 things: 1.) Relentlessly pursue results - take on every case you can and get to the resolution as quickly and effectively as possible. 2.) Be a cool person to work with - network, have coffee chats, join the all-hands meetings and participate, be the most friendly, hard-working, and supportive teammate. 3.) Say 1-2 insightful things per week - show that you know your stuff, but do it VERY strategically and casually, and always with intent to support others. Do these 3 things and you'll get the FT gig, guaranteed.
