Yes, the are pretty, visual, colourful but in short, generally they fail the crucial ATS format that will make or break the chances of an interview. It's plain and simple. Do you want an interview? If so, don't use a template! Keep the formatting plain, supported by the right content with business functional keywords and highlighting performance.

You get out of your job search what you put into it. And for those who say they send out hundreds of resumes and get no where? That is not a job search strategy. After the first dozen, you need to realize that strategy alone is not working. Network network network. I've interviewed thousands of people and I don't need a resume at all to have that first conversation
