Investing in Technology is crucial to keep up with ever evolving BIM world, with new discoveries every day. However one must take into account that with every new technology comes new responsibilities and for that we need skilled people who can run that technology so investing in your resources is as important as investing in any new technology. So one should simultaneously enhance their workforce and their techs, just enhancing the gadgets will not be beneficial.

Off-the-shelf tech products can be cost effective way of creating efficiencies In your business but this does come with it's drawbacks. OTS products often operate in isolation, which goes against the idea behind BIM of creating a collaborative end-to-end system. Bespoke software on the other hand is incredibly expensive but can be tailored to your exact needs. However, there is no guarantee of success, so be sure to conduct extensive research and trials before company-wide implementation.

There are various tools used in BIM processes. To Design, calculate, coordination, markup, Projects submission, various software are being used. They have their own pros & cons in terms of collaboration, Interoperability, usability, cost, & time effectiveness. Also, there are CDE environments which are being developed to combine the whole process & for better collaboration between different stakeholders. Before implementing we have too also careful about the hardware it required & trained people's availability in the industry.

Right now every supplier has it's own website with their information, and it's used specially in local way, but it would be great if the information could be standardized so all the manufacturers could have the requirements and produce with a global specification.

An issue on construction sites is the varying methodologies of the site managers within the same organisation, again a project silo issue. Utilising BIM can help to remove the variety in construction practices, creating standard operating procedures for site managers and contractors to work to.
