The reason why we base sprints off of an iterative cycle with a retrospective is so the team has a platform for continuous improvement. There is always change to be made. Velocity should have a positive slope over the lifespan of a project, and the only way to achieve that is being able to look objectively and always advance forward.

In 2024, it is far too late to be an early adopter of Agile. That ship has sailed. However, you may still benefit from skipping over all the intermediate steps we took along the way.
